My name is Ramadji and I’m one heck of a tough Kirdi ( Chadian Arabic word used by Northern Chadians, mostly Muslims, to call Southern Chadians who are overwhelmingly Christians and Animists. Kirdi means someone who is not a believer in Islam, infidel in other words!) who wants the former Chadian dictator Hissene Habre to be brought to justice for his crimes. The guy killed thousands, tortured, launched a genocide campaign against the Sara, the Hadejerai,…during his 8 years rule. So many people disappeared under his reign. I lost many of love ones including my younger brother aged 9 at the time and my father’s two brothers. My dad lost lost all his colleagues in the massacre that took place at the farm of Deli, 30km of Moundoun, South Chad on Sept. 17, 1984. It was “Black September 1984″ and many Southeners will always remember the genocide the world didn’t know about. Until now, I don’t know how I escape but that’s something I will never forget during my life time. Habre is a nasty bloodthirsty monster whose place is behind bars. As long as God will extend my life and as long as Habre will be hanging out free, I will be right here to remind the world that that monster’s place is in jail.
If some pro-Habre people hate my guts for that, so be it. They’re just a bunch of losers and cowards who’re going down with their protege. You can take my words to the bank. We’re going to hunt you down, you and Hissene Habre. Your death threats won’t stop us from seeking Truth and Justice because without those two elements, no real reconciliation is possible.
There is just no room for criminals in today’s world. We, the people, we, the victims of the dictatorship of Habre, we’re going to use all the means to bring you to justice or bring justice to you. You bet !
